Positive Tuesdays: Week Eight.

Hiiii!

Once again, I've not been in the best state of mind ever but I'm taking steps to make it better - working on CBT skills I once learnt and just generally looking after (or trying) myself. I'll get there eventually, I must keep that mentality up!

The past week has held some good times mind you and of course, it's Positive Tuesday I'm going to share all of those things with you!

You know, happiness is all about the little things isn't it? Well, my flat mate and I ordered our first university Dominos and it was absolutely beautiful. Things like that are truly the most wonderful moments, anything that involve pizza is wonderful of course.

I also met up with my friends Georgia and Libby and it was the first time I've seen Libby in MONTHS. So that was super nice as together we are #Shibby, get to know that. I always love seeing friends who I haven't seen in a while and the friendships where you don't see each other all the time but when you do it's like you've never been away, those are the best friendships!
Friday came and it was World Mental Health day so I went on a super long walk which involved Starbucks, pretty trees and cute puppies… you can read about that here. Oh, but a gypsy lady tried to sell me some of those little flowery things and I swiftly said no but now I think she might have cursed me, but never mind.

Saturday was one day I probably don't think is worthy of positivity but then again it was quite nice, I aimed to meet Ansel Elgort… you know the giant (literal giant, he's 6'3 -ultimate swoon-) dream boat from The Fault In Our Stars. Well, that totally failed but I had mozzarella sticks and spent the day with one of my favourite friends Vanessa and made a few news friends too! So that was really lovely despite  being cold for 9 hours, the lack of food and the hurt bum bone the next day.

(As I write this I'm realising what a good week I had and all the negativity is seeming really horrible and irrelevant and I really should learn how to focus on these positive things, wow.)

On Sunday we had a spontaneous flat dinner which consisted of Chinese and potato wedges, but I was reminded how much I hate Chinese food so no thank you chicken balls, you will not be entering my mouth any time soon. Then we all joined together in my bedroom to watch 'The House Bunny' and we've decided that Sundays are now dinner and movie flat nights, isn't that just the cutest?!

And finally, yesterday was cool! (despite all my crappy ongoing anxieties, but nope we won't talk about that). I was meant to be going to a gig in Camden but I wasn't feeling it so I splurged out on a ticket for Ed Sheeran at the O2 and it was AMAZING. He is honestly so talented, he never fails at putting on a good show and it's literally just him up there…how does he do it, he's amazing. It was kind of cool, I had to go to an event for my university work and then write up a report (you can read that here, it's my university website, oh I'm so official now) and it was cool to watch a boy from Suffolk sing a sold out show to 20,000 people, see him live his dream while I was doing something to contribute to my dream - I was writing notes through the show for my report, what have I become.

This post really has got me thinking about how thankful and happy I should be, oh silly mind. This has been a good week, full of positivity.

How has yours been? I would LOVE to know so leave a comment below!

What Happened This Week?!

Hiii! I'm super crap with posting on here regularly, I have no excuse apart from lack of motivation and stuff but hopefully soon enough that will all change!

This week was interesting, let's see what some big points were…

5 Seconds Of Summer hit number 1 in the UK Top 40!

Yep, I spoke about them previously (I speak about them everyday, they're my favourite band DUH.) But they did it, they hit number 1 with She Looks So Perfect. They're the 4th Australian artist to get a debut number 1 and the first Australian artist to get a number 1 in 14 years (Kylie had that crown, maybe they can go out for tea) but anyway, how amazing is that?! Four teenage, Aussie lads taking over the world one country at a time. This was such a far fetched thing to even think about only a year ago, a year ago on the 7th April I saw them and met them at a little acoustic gig at the Camden Barfly and a year later they're set to go on their first headline American tour, another Australian tour and then joining One Direction yet again on their worldwide stadium tour. Not bad at all for some boys playing guitars from Western Sydney, they definitely deserve it though so if their name isn't already engraved in your memory then do that now because they aren't going anywhere anytime soon!

Brooklyn Beckham makes everyone swoon…

This boy was always going to make a name for himself with the parents he's got and well the genes he's inherited, but he's going it alone and making his way onto the cover of magazines. For a 15 year old he worked those photos and you can tell that pre-teens across the world were very heart eyes over him (maybe even old girls too but can I even say that?). The photos were taken by Alasdair McLennan for Man About Town magazine and I can see more modelling in the near future. Definitely following in his parents footsteps but in his own way, whether it's the modelling or the football I'm sure we'll see a lot of him for many years.

Ed Sheeran announces new album!

YES, 3 years after his first album '+' was released he's finally releasing a new album called 'x' or as he said in his tweet - 'multiply', so there's for sure a trend I can almost see into the future with the next 2 albums (psychic me). I'm so excited about this because his first album is still super good and you can still listen to it so many times and never get bored, this is so exciting I can hardly even talk about it because years of work has clearly gone into this and that just screams THAT IT IS GOING TO BE AMAZING.

23rd of June is the release date so let's just prepare for that, like cancel everything we need to prepare.

Thanks for reading - if you read, does anyone even read this…hello? Anyway, I'm going to try and make this more frequent and I've said that loads of times before but I have a busy life of breathing and stuff so you know…I'll try my best!

This Week.

I thought I'd just touch upon a few stories in the news this week! So, let's go.

The big one that has stuck out for me is the feud that Jake Bugg has started against One Direction. Unnecessary or not? Personally, I think he's being so unnecessary and I would even say that if I wasn't a One Direction fan because he's being completely rude for no reason at all. I like Jake Bugg, or should I say liked. Once you realise someone has an awful personality it kind of puts you off, doesn't it? He was reported to of said that he doesn't understand why they are classed as a band and that they were there to just 'look good'. Well, how rude. Then at the NME Awards (One Direction won Worst Band while Harry picked up Villain Of The Year) Jake suggested that they didn't write their own songs and that he finds it hard to listen to music which doesn't come from the 'heart and soul'...alright, soppy. If he would look at who writes the songs he would discover they DO in fact have a part to play, assumptions, assumptions. Last week Niall and Louis responded to Jake Bugg on Twitter, Louis making a remark at how 'indie' he is, however, he is yet to respond...very indie of him. Let's see where this goes, shall we? Maybe after One Direction finish their sold out world tour.

In other news it came to be announced that Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran were a couple, GASP, SHOCK, AH. WHAT?! That was my reaction. Apparently they had been together last year and now they were too. Oh, blimey Taylor doesn't mess about does she? I love the girl, I do, but maybe she should take a break...buy a puppy or something. Although, this hasn't been confirmed as far as I know but I'm sure if it's all true we will see them on the streets of New York like we did when everyone was speculating about her relationship with Harry Styles. That's another thing, Harry and Ed are best friends and it's the same girl, ouch.

Katie Price is preggers with her new fiancée, bit quick isn't it. I always used to like her when she was with Peter Andre  because she seemed fairly stable and decent, but she's gone a bit cray cray since.

V Festival line up was announced this week and then the tickets went on sale. The line up is fairly good, Beyoncé is the headliner alongside Kings Of Leon (what have they even done lately?) so she will be drawing in a lot of fans who didn't get tickets for her tour in the UK. But all in all the line up looks quite good! I'm sure it'd be a good weekend.
