My Tattoos

Hey everyone!

I did a little poll on Twitter to see what post you'd like to see next and you wanted a post on my tattoos. I have a few and actually rediscovered a post I did back in 2014 on my first two little tattoos - I totally forgot I did that post!

Well since then I've had five new tattoos and I thought I'd talk through them and why I got them and why I love them all individually so much, let's go...

Watercolour Heart

So, this is my little water colour heart on my inner right arm. I actually got this tattoo with my mum, we got a matching tattoo it's adorable! I love water colour tattoos and I want my whole right arm to be colourful and my left arm to be black and grey. But anyway, this tattoo is so important just because I share it with my mum it's out little thing together and it means the world that I can share something forever with my mum.

Watercolour Umbrella
This sounds EMO AF, but, I just bloody love the rain. I really do, I love going for walks in the rain, I love sitting in my room and listening to the rain. It's my favourite and I wanted a tattoo on my body to represent that. This is so cute and goes so well with my heart which is just underneath it. I want to add some more seasonal/weather inspired tattoos on my upper arm to kind of go with this.

Balloon
This is probably my least favourite if I'm honest...oops. I'm going to get this added to, it's on my arm with my watercolours so I think I want some colour added. I literally got this done at the same time as the heart just because I felt like it. It was meant to represent me being free and letting go but to be honest I didn't think about it enough, I really want to add more to it to represent what it was truly meant to. It actually just looks like a sperm, so maybe I'll just say it's to remember the time before I was born, right?

Pinky Promise
For my 21st Birthday my best friends got me a tattoo voucher so I wanted to get something for them. That's why I got a little pinky promise tattoo, I wanted them to know that I promise to be their friend forever and that they mean the world to me. I love this one purely for that reason! Probably my most painful one but it was worth it. That 21st birthday present was my favourite of that year and I get to keep it with me forever, and I get to keep that promise to my friends.

Daffodil
OKAY SO, this is now my absolute favourite! I literally got this done on Wednesday. Tuesday night I was like "Cor I fancy a tattoo" so I emailed my studio that I go to and they got me in on Wednesday.

The reason for this is firstly, I want a lot of floral tattoos, I want my whole left arm to be covered in flowers really. But the other reason is that on the day of my Grandads funeral all I seemed to see was Daffodils, everywhere! I kept looking around in the car up to the funeral and on the way back and they were all I saw. From that moment I was like, I want a god damn effing Daffodil. I have a plan for a tattoo for both my Grandads so this isn't the 'official' remembrance tattoo for him but it means a heck of a lot. I love it so much.

That's it for now! Plenty more planned and I am STOKED. Share with me below or on Twitter your tattoos, I'd love to see them!

Until next time,

Update!

Hi hi hi,

Once again I've been so disgustingly unmotivated to write anything on this blog that I've abandoned it 5eva. A lot has happened since I left university and when I say left I mean permanently which leaves me thinking about the future…

Okay, so here I am a University drop out. Where is my band to start singing around me like on Grease when the chick is a beauty school drop out? Or because I went to a painfully average London university do I not get the privilege?!

All year I spent my time wondering if being at university was the right thing for me, I had THE best time. If you read my blog, know me, follow me on any form of social media you will know this. I made the most amazing friends from all over the world/country, had some mad nights, got to explore London on my one women treks around the city and fell in love with the city all over again. But that's not why I moved there primarily, I moved there to start earning a degree… a degree which I quickly lost interest in. All my life I've wanted to be in the entertainment/journalism industry, so off I went to study a course I thought I would love - instead I was left all year losing my passion for the career I'd longed after for so long. That makes me sad. I'm sad that the passion went and I'm sad that I don't have it in me anymore to complete a degree, I feel LIKE A TOTAL BUM.

But so, so, so many people are the same and don't continue with their studies after the first year, a lot even drop out during! Which I wanted to do so many times but was encouraged to stay. It makes me feel okay knowing that it's normal and fine to not want to be at university. Unfortunately, our generation is force fed the thought that to succeed we need to go to uni but really that isn't the case and I hope and pray that I find my way. I'm currently super lost in a part time temp job, I really want to discover the right path for me and I'm nervous, so very nervous. The big world of being an adult is scary lolzzzz.

What else has happened since I left university…I turned 20, yuck, boring (need to change my blog layout and sidebar, no longer a 19 year old student in London)

I got a little puppy named Sid, I like to think of him as me in dog form - a bit odd and a midget.

I got a boyf lol, the boy I have 'luvved' since I was 14 and dumped him 5 times over 10 months as I was a confused, naive child who didn't know how to deal with having a boy dig her. SO THAT'S INTERESTING INIT.

Nothing else of any interest has /really/ happened in the last few months that has changed my life…on the mental health side of things I am now at a clinic to sort my eating out and it's super scary but I'll get there. My life is looking up so much, a puppy, a boi, no more education, all I need is a job to get me going and I'll be set.

I shan't be giving up hope on finding my way, it's scary and there's so many people who have probably hit a wall in knowing what they want in life and I'm sure they too have found their way.

OH BEING AN ADULT, WHAT R U LIKE.

What Keeps Me Happy…

Hiiii! It's been so long I am a poop, I lack motivation and Sims 4 exists… sigh.

I wanted to do a post about all the things that make me happy and that could maybe give you the chance to think about what could make you happy when times suck. I turn to these things when I'm having rough times so let me know what you do!

My happy box

My happy box (or hoarder box) is full of little memories I've collected through the years! It's full of photos, gig tickets, train tickets, random little things like confetti from gigs too! It's just a box full of things I can look at whenever I feel down and feel immediately happy, it's full of lovely memories that make me feel grateful for being alive and living the life I do.

If you wanted to make one just find an old shoe box, gift box, or anything and just fill it with tickets and anything that makes you happy!

I want to also make a happy go to box full of a nice DVD, nice sweets, etc. That I can go to on proper poop days.

Colouring books

When I feel bored and overwhelmed with boredom I go to the colouring books, the trusty little colouring books. You can obviously get these everywhere because they're so popular right now! I don't even know why colouring is so therapeutic but it is, although I have to now buy books where the shapes aren't tiny because that stresses me THE FRICK OUT.

YouTube

I can't help but spend hours on end on YouTube watching absolute crap, it's just something that keeps my mind going when I need it.

Hanging out with my friends and family!

There's nothing like it, there's nothing like having a proper laugh with your family and friends. I love going to the weekly pub quiz with my friends, it keeps me going through the week when I know I'm going to hang out with them for a few hours at the end of it!

So even when times are rough always know your friends and family are there to help out and make you feel way good.

Scrapbooking/Being creative

I don't know what came over me but my creative mind seems to have truly taken over since I moved away. Maybe it's because I wanted to show that I could be creative, I don't know. But I LOVE SCRAPBOOKING, it's so calming and makes me smile so much to look back at all the amazing memories I've had throughout my life.

If you want to really make yourself feel good then do a scrapbook, it's not childish or anything it's just lovely to have somewhere to keep all of your memories that make you feel ace.

Going for walks

I love going for walks, simple as! I love putting my headphones in and just taking everything around me in it really makes me feel good about life…

There you go, those are a few things that keep me happy when things are a bit sucky. What do you do?! Let me know!

I'm going to get back on this blogging thing, just have to find the motivation somewhere!

Thoughts.

When I was little I had it all figured out - I was going to be married by 22, have a really ace job, loads of money and be happy with 2 kids. I'm 19 years old and I have no idea what the hell I'm doing and my childhood idea of my future is the funniest thing I've probably ever thought of. I really wish I did have it all figured out, but I don't. I seem to be stuck.

I'm stuck in a very confusing mind set, am I doing the right thing? Should I be back at home with a job I never imagined myself in just starting my life? Should I really be spending my time stressing 24/7, doing university work and being confused?

What do I really want? I've no idea anymore.

I want to be happy, that's for sure.

I want to be comfortable.

I want to know where I'm going, what I'm doing and what's the right thing for me.

Life is very strange, hard and confusing. I'm not quite sure what I'm doing at all, I'm not sure whether I should be here or there. I'm not sure where I really belong. Do I really belong in this big city like I always thought or do I belong back in that little one, the one where no one ever seem to escape? Do I belong there? Am I supposed to be just Shannon, the girl with a normal job, a normal life…not this spectacular one I've always dreamt of…maybe my dreams are too big, that's always a thought too.

OH LIFE, YOU ARE NOT VERY SIMPLE AT ALL.

Saturday Is Near.

I've been here almost my whole life, Saturday comes and I'll be looking at a completely different view. I used to love familiarity, I used to love walking around my estate and going by places I played when I was a kid but it's now all a bit too familiar, I don't think I was put on Earth to stay in the same town forever, I think I was put on this Earth to travel and make the most of my life. This change is going to be good. I'll be spending 3 years in London, my favourite city. I'll come home and look at this boring view occasionally, but I'm excited to swap this view for the view of London. I must stay positive and realise that this is an amazing step for me. 2 years ago I would never get on a bus on my own, walk into shops...anything. Come Saturday I will be doing life all on my own (with my mum just on the other side of a phone in case of any potential breakdowns or confusion when I want to cook some food). But let's do this, I'm Shannon and I'm no longer Little Shannon, the girl who was frightened of leaving a bubble I've been kept in all my life, I am now just Shannon...the girl who is finally chasing a dream.

Positive Tuesdays: Week Two.

Helllloooo!

I haven't posted since this time last week and I do apologise, maybe you haven't even noticed my short absence but I've been at Reading Festival! That's all I've done the past week and I really wanted to make a whole separate post for that tomorrow or something so you'll just have to wait for that and it'll be my 'good thing for the week'.

So this whole new thing is about me being positive and to hopefully get any of you to think positively too, but isn't it a bit hypocritical of me to try to enforce positivity when I'm still having a hard time mentally? I think this whole thing is a little time out of my negative thoughts to just stop and think that it's okay for a little while.

I want to beat the bad thoughts and that's what I'm trying to do but you all know it's not as easy as that, but it will happen eventually.

The past week I had a sick time at Reading but the little demons in my head still stuck around, telling me it wasn't okay to do certain things, but now I'm home I'm saying to myself that actually, yes, it was okay. It IS okay. That's what I want to say to you too, if you're out somewhere and you really want to have a good time but there's voices in your head telling you that you're not worthy then I'm here to tell you that you are and that it's okay to let go for a few days. WELL, not even a few days, it's okay to let go forever, to just have fun and not let the shit get in the way of anything you want to do.

From this post just remember one thing: it's okay.

Have you had a good week? Has anything really nice happened that has made you feel good this week? Let me know in the comments, I'd love for you to get involved in this weekly post!

My Tattoos & Their Meanings.

Hiiiiiii!

A few weeks ago I finally plucked up the courage to get permanent ink on my skin, you know…it's literally never coming off. For about a year and a half I'd had these tattoo ideas and after much stressing and sweating I finally got them done. For one thing, the pain is literally not bad at all and that's what I was worried about most, palms were sweaty, knees weak, arms were heavy (thank you, Eminem). But I don't think many people apart from my pals know exactly why I got what I got, so I'm going to tell you whether you like it or not, whether you really give two shits or not, YOU'RE GOING TO KNOW.

Firstly, the tattoo on the side of my wrist…

(I took these photos when it was first done, I can't seem to get a good one right now and I can't put myself through the stress of taking a good one, IT'S STRESSING ME OUT, MAN)

Okay, so I was originally going to get three generic hearts, one for my mum, one for my dad and one for my brother. Then I was like, no I want them to mean more to me than just that! So I got them all to draw a heart each, it goes my mum, dad and then my brother at the bottom. They aren't the neatest things in the world but I don't care one little bit, they drew them and I'll always have a tiny little piece of them literally on me forever and I love that! They could've turned out looking like acorns or something but they didn't, they look like hearts and that's good enough for me. I just wanted them to do something for me because my family are my life, any little thing like this just makes me feel all warm inside. Cute, I'm cute as frick.

Secondly, the tattoo on my inner forearm…

Do you recognise these lyrics? Maybe. They're from 'Beside You' by 5 Seconds of Summer. Now I didn't get this tattoo for the purpose of 5SOS, they might be my favourite band but I just wouldn't personally get a tattoo dedicated to a band. Back in January/February last year this song was the first I heard by them and immediately this lyric stuck out, I didn't really know who they were at this point so for me to immediately be like "I WANT THIS LYRIC ON MY BODY" means it must've meant a lot, right? Yes it does! 'My heart wants to come home' for me this means that wherever I am in the world my heart will always hold a special place for home, my family and everything about where I'm from. I'm leaving for University and you know I'll look down at my arm whenever I'm missing home, my heart might want to be home but I'll be living my dream, but everyone will know that home has such a special place in my heart. I must thank 5 Seconds of Summer for creating one of the most beautiful lyrics to come into my life. And I absolutely dig the font I chose, it's like a broken typewriter font and I love it so much.

I still look at my arm and I'm like wow, man, I've got two fricken cute tattoos on me forever with lovely meanings and I really love them so much.

TATTOOS RULE.

The TMI Tag.

Hiiiiii, I found this TMI tag and I fancied doing it as a way of introducing myself to any new followers I have gained - thank you by the way if you've followed me on BlogLovin, it really means a lot to me when people recognise you and what you're writing! Let's get started...

1: What are you wearing?
This is embarrassing to admit as I'm not wearing some fancy, fashionable clothing. I am however in my pyjamas which is an odd mix of cut off pyjama trousers which I made into shorts and a green Linkin Park t-shirt.
2: Ever been in love?
Maybe, I'm not sure. I've only been in two relationships and sometimes I wonder if they ever even count. One of the boys I held onto the thought of him long after, maybe that was love…I'm not sure, probably not.

3: Ever had a terrible breakup?
No, not really!
4: How tall are you?
5'2/5'3 (I'm not sure)
5: How much do you weigh?
How much do YOU weigh Mr Nosey?!
6: Any tattoos?
Yes, 2! But I'm going to be making a post about them soon so keep an eye out for that!
7: Any piercings?
Nope!
8: OTP?
This is a tough one, Gus and Hazel are beautiful and everyone loves them, they are the true OTP.
9: Favorite show?
How I Met Your Mother/Friends.
10: Favorite bands?
5 Seconds of Summer, Blink 182, All Time Low, McFly, The Vamps.
11: Something you miss?
Someone, not something…my lovely Grandad Bill.
12: Favorite song?
Beside You - 5 Seconds of Summer.
13: How old are you?
19, I'm pulling a sad face right now.
14: Zodiac sign?
Cancer.
15: Quality you look for in a partner?
If you can make me laugh then I will fall for you.
16: Favorite Quote?
'My heart wants to come home' - it's from a song but still.
17: Favorite actor?
JASON SEGEL, NEXT QUESTION PLEASE.
18: Favorite color?
Red or purple or white or black.
19: Loud music or soft?
Both.
20: Where do you go when you’re sad?
Into my room where I sit for a little while and collect my thoughts or have a nap.
21: How long does it take you to shower?
Usually I time it with how many songs I listen to and it's usually two, so about 7 minutes.
22: How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
Not long at all because I am lazy and make minimal effort with my appearance and I've mastered the art of straightening hair in less than 8 minutes.
23: Ever been in a physical fight?
I was play fighting with my brother and my cousin once and I punched my brother in the nose if that counts, I hope it counts because it was a proud moment that me, little Shannon had just whacked someone in the snout.
24: Turn on?
Tall, funny boys. GAH.
25: Turn off?
Long finger nails, pass the bucket because I will vom.
26: Fears?
I could be here all day with that. Death, illness, falling between the train and the platform, failure and onions.
27: Last thing that made you cry?
Probably just myself.
28: Last time you said you loved someone?
10 minutes ago when my mum went to bed!
29: Last book you read?
I started reading Eleanor & Park but I stopped because it was getting too cute and I wasn't in the mood for cuteness so I stopped and haven't returned, but fully it was The Fault in Our Stars.
30: Last show you watched?
Big Brother, hahaha.
31: Last person you talked to?
My mum.
32: The relationship between you and the person you last texted?
He is my dad. (I'm so popular, speaking to my mum, texting my dad, who needs pals?!)
33: Favorite food?
Hey, health heads look away now - PIZZA.
34: Place you want to visit?
Australia, so badly it hurts.
35: Last time you kissed someone?
Last year some time and it sucked. HAHAH (sorry, if you read this I'm sorry.)
36: Last time you were insulted?
This evening when I tried McDonalds new cheese bites, they were awful and I'm extremely insulted.
37: Last sport you played?
Does Sims 3 count as a sport?
38: Last time you hung out with anyone?
Tonight with my friend Shanice!
39: Who should answer these questions next?
Anyone, you, your mother, your dog or even your loaf of bread.

I hope you enjoyed reading about me as much as I enjoyed writing about myself. (That was a joke, I'm not self centred I promise) I deleted a few though because they were YouTubery related questions and I'm not on that level yet!

Have a nice day wherever you are, doing whatever you're doing!

June Topshop Wish-list!

Hiiiiiii! I've never done one of these before and of course I love clothes etc, so maybe I should start doing stuff like this more often.

I could've gone on and on and picked literally everything but I only chose a few things which if I had the money I would go straight into a big Topshop and buy, but actually all I can do is window shop, then leave and cry at my lack of shopping. My style isn't very 'colourful' considering it's Spring/Summer, I am still stuck in my skinny black jeans but perhaps one day that'll all change… we'll see. Anyway, here are some things I liked the look of online today!

Now, I know it's not really the right time of year to wear jumpers and cardigans but I dress for comfort no matter what the heat (silly, I know) but I've never had a Summer where I've whacked my legs out and I'd love to so maybe in a few weeks I'll do an updated wish-list and there might be more season appropriate clothes on there.

Right now I'm super into ripped skinny jeans, I just bought some black ones and they're so nice so the ripped stone wash jamie jeans (which will ALWAYS be Topshops best quality and best fitted jeans, in my opinion) are a great pick!

The denim t-shirt dresses have been about for absolutely ages now and I'm still yet to buy one so hopefully I'll get one for the summer.

What are you thinking about Topshop right now, is there anything you really want to purchase? Let me know!

I enjoyed doing this, so will definitely do this more often. My blog doesn't seem to have a set subject I write about, I like a bit of everything and that's cool I think.

Will write soon! xo
