Blogmas: Day Nine! 5SOS Edition.

Hiiiiiiyaaaa from a very dazed and confused Shannon!

Last night I (stupidly) slept outside Radio 1 like the crazy mother I am, 5SOS are back in the country and of course my life goes up the shitter and all hell breaks loose. It was so cold, it was a very stupid decision but the things you do for Australians. I mean it was SO cold, like deadly cold. This morning we go barrier and met the lovely lads, they are honestly my favourite people on Earth (apart from my mum, dad and brother) and even though Michael was absent it was still lovely to see the rest of them.

I haven't seen them in any form since July, I mean I'd always take a gig over meeting them but at this point I would've taken any opportunity because there was a big 5 Seconds of Summer shaped hole in my heart.

Luke and Calum were nice as per, it was cold though they weren't bouncing off the walls. BUT ASHTON. Oh good lord, see heres the thing with Ashton - since I met them at Warped Tour last year me and Ashton have always just had a sweet little thing. Every time he sees me he recognises me or looks at me like he knows who I am but can't quite put his finger on it and it's just very lovely. Today he looked at me and with wide eyes was like "Hello! it's so good to see you, how are you?!" and I was like "awww I know it's been so long hasn't it" and he said aw and patted me on the arm like we were old pals and it WAS SO FRICKEN CUTE. Honestly, it made my day because he never, ever fails to make me smile. He's just so polite and thoughtful for remembering every single time, he means what he says and that's just sweet.

My pictures are dreadful, I am Rudolph in human form and my face was puffy as balls but here are the pictures.

After all that I slept for 3 hours and now feel like absolute dogs bollocks oh my god. But we're having our flat Christmas meal tonight, cute! Although we have no pigs in blankets, so it's like hmm…what does one even do about that situation. I'll let you know how that went tomorrow!

For now, I hope you have a good 9th December!

Where We Are Tour 2014!

Hiiiii! So this weekend my friend Libby and I travelled all the way up to Manchester to see One Direction and 5 Seconds Of Summer on the Where We Are Tour and it was very, very fun!

It's been a while since I've seen One Direction, the last time was April last year and since then I've changed my views on them a lot and stopped spending my time and effort on them so I wasn't really excited to see them, I was mostly looking forward to watching my favourite Aussie foursome rock out on that huge stage (which was very weird as I'm used to seeing them in small venues). Anyway, One Direction really did seem to gain a little bit of my love back.

Last week wasn't the best for One Direction with the whole weed smoking drama so I think some people were a bit wary of the tour from that moment onwards, but even with me and my friend Libby hurling weed related jokes at them the whole time - not in a malicious way, but just in a 'we are drunk what are we even saying' way - on our first night of the tour (31st May) I think a lot of people had brushed it to the side.

5 Seconds Of Summer opened the show and smashed it, we were the only ones around us going absolutely mental, showing our love for the boys and I think they won over the crowd so I'm very proud of them for that because I've seen them play a show to 200 people and then they're now playing shows to 60,000+ - pretty mad! But they were awesome and got the crowd going. They managed to do that both nights I went and I'm so proud of them, their 10 song set list was great and included songs that a lot of the crowd seemed to know like their number 1 single She Looks So Perfect, their cover of Katy Perry's Teenage Dream and their new single Don't Stop. This is a big platform for the boys again as was the Take Me Home tour last year!

One Direction then hit the stage starting off with Midnight Memories and the show went from there, upbeat songs from all 3 albums and they were accompanied by fireworks all night which made me jump multiple times the second night when I was sober and was aware of everything going on, oh my god. There were floods of screaming girls everywhere, even right next to us on the second night this one little girl did not stop screaming the whole time, I don't think any other words fell out of her mouth - just a long scream for 2 hours… delightful. During Little Things on the second night there were 2 little girls behind me who just looked like they were loving life and didn't have a care in the world about anything else and with that and simply just the atmosphere in the Etihad Stadium, I started to well up because it reminded me of what I was like when I was probably their age watching McFly and Busted, it just made me emotional and looking back it's hilarious but at the time I wanted to curl up in a ball and cry hahaha. Niall looked so happy at some points, well they all did but Niall seemed to stick out for me (he also looked VERY nice on the Sunday night with his ripped jeans, god damn) and Liam too, he seemed very appreciative of what they were doing. This weekend was technically a set of homecoming shows for Harry and they made that clear when they sung 'Don't Forget Where You Belong'.

All in all it was an amazing night I must admit, I had a great weekend and I'll be doing my last tour date on the 8th June at Wembley Stadium in London which will be something else. One Direction do put on a good show despite all the things I've said the last year, they are good artists regardless and the Where We Are Tour is pretty special.

What Happened This Week?!

Hiii! I'm super crap with posting on here regularly, I have no excuse apart from lack of motivation and stuff but hopefully soon enough that will all change!

This week was interesting, let's see what some big points were…

5 Seconds Of Summer hit number 1 in the UK Top 40!

Yep, I spoke about them previously (I speak about them everyday, they're my favourite band DUH.) But they did it, they hit number 1 with She Looks So Perfect. They're the 4th Australian artist to get a debut number 1 and the first Australian artist to get a number 1 in 14 years (Kylie had that crown, maybe they can go out for tea) but anyway, how amazing is that?! Four teenage, Aussie lads taking over the world one country at a time. This was such a far fetched thing to even think about only a year ago, a year ago on the 7th April I saw them and met them at a little acoustic gig at the Camden Barfly and a year later they're set to go on their first headline American tour, another Australian tour and then joining One Direction yet again on their worldwide stadium tour. Not bad at all for some boys playing guitars from Western Sydney, they definitely deserve it though so if their name isn't already engraved in your memory then do that now because they aren't going anywhere anytime soon!

Brooklyn Beckham makes everyone swoon…

This boy was always going to make a name for himself with the parents he's got and well the genes he's inherited, but he's going it alone and making his way onto the cover of magazines. For a 15 year old he worked those photos and you can tell that pre-teens across the world were very heart eyes over him (maybe even old girls too but can I even say that?). The photos were taken by Alasdair McLennan for Man About Town magazine and I can see more modelling in the near future. Definitely following in his parents footsteps but in his own way, whether it's the modelling or the football I'm sure we'll see a lot of him for many years.

Ed Sheeran announces new album!

YES, 3 years after his first album '+' was released he's finally releasing a new album called 'x' or as he said in his tweet - 'multiply', so there's for sure a trend I can almost see into the future with the next 2 albums (psychic me). I'm so excited about this because his first album is still super good and you can still listen to it so many times and never get bored, this is so exciting I can hardly even talk about it because years of work has clearly gone into this and that just screams THAT IT IS GOING TO BE AMAZING.

23rd of June is the release date so let's just prepare for that, like cancel everything we need to prepare.

Thanks for reading - if you read, does anyone even read this…hello? Anyway, I'm going to try and make this more frequent and I've said that loads of times before but I have a busy life of breathing and stuff so you know…I'll try my best!

Watch Out For 5 Seconds Of Summer!

YES, it's official, it is only a few more days until my favourite band '5 Seconds Of Summer' release their debut UK single 'She Looks So Perfect'. So you all need to watch out for this band, okay?!

They've been together almost 3 years, and in that time they have blossomed into this awesome, little, Aussie band. I say little, but they're not little at all. They did their own thing on YouTube for a while, toured Australia with Hot Chelle Rae, released their first EP in Aus (Somewhere New), toured the world with One Direction and have done many shows over here in the UK, Australia and are due to go on tour in a couple of weeks in America on their first headline tour over there! They aren't doing too badly for a band that hasn't even got an album out yet!

I know I'm being totally and utterly biased when I say how good they are but I'm nothing but honest… they're great. I can't wait to see how the single does in the charts next week, so you need to go and pre-order it now on iTunes (or simply just buy it on Sunday 23rd March).

If you haven't heard the single yet you can watch the video below!

Quirky song lyrics and a weird (but good) video, WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT?!

you can get the single/EP here!

Help get these boys the success and recognition they deserve, because you won't find any 4 teenage boys that work as hard as they do! So if you want to see good music re-enter the charts then you must back these lads.

Big Steps...

I once touched up on the subject in a piece of school work about how famous people can get through the power of YouTube. Since I can remember I've wanted to make a YouTube channel, unfortunately I've never had the confidence to do so, I'm hoping one day I will! ANYWAY, I've always watched YouTubers and admired them...they all are so funny and talented in their own ways. Even if their talent is just making people laugh.

Over the last couple of years there's been a boom in British YouTubers. The likes of Jack Harries (JacksGap) and his twin brother Finn, Marcus Butler (MarcusButlerTV), Alfie Deyes (PointlessBlogTV) and two best pals Louise (Sprinkleofglitter) and Zoe or Zoella as most know her (Zoella280390). They've all grown such a huge following, Zoe even reached a goal of 1 Million subscribers yesterday- madness.

I think it's amazing how easily people can get noticed nowadays, it's so good to make a platform like that for people. Everyone has an equal opportunity to make something of their lives, they just have to have a bit of wit and know what they're going to base their channel on.

YouTube is also a massive platform for aspiring singers, lets use an obvious example which is so typical of me to talk about - 5 Seconds of Summer. An Aussie band (NOT a boyband) who just started off on YouTube but are now supporting One Direction on a world tour. That is totally mental, the right person finds you on YouTube and you turn into a someone instead of just a 'nobody' immediately - although, they definitely weren't nobodies at all.

I haven't posted on here in a while due to lack of motivation, nothing taking my interest and just general problems in my silly head. But I will definitely try a lot more to post in the future, I've just had a few off months!
